Southampton 0 – 9 Leicester City

Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy scored hat-tricks as Leicester City had a record-equaling 9-0 Premier League win over a 10-man Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.
The goals flooded in after Ryan Bertrand was sent off after a VAR review which made the match the biggest away win in Premier League history.

Manchester United 4 – 0 Chelsea

Two big Premier League rivals met on the Match Day 1 of the 2019-2020 season at Old Trafford Stadium, the icon home of Manchester United.

Having boosted their squad during the summer by acquiring the services of Harry Maguire from Leicester City and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace, and Chelsea who were at that time on transfer ban called their on-loan young stars to bolster their team and the debut of Frank Lampard as their new head coach.

Chelsea edged a first half that was arguably more entertaining for its seemingly constant stream of errors than anything else but they were not lucky enough to concede goals from Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and debutant, Daniel James.

Norwich City 3 - 2 Manchester City

After the departure of Vincent Kompany in the summer of 2019, Manchester City was one of the favourite team to win the Premier League but the unexpected happened when their best and most reliable Center Back, Aymeric Laporte had a knee injury.

They had no option but to convert one of the best Defensive Midfielder, Fernandinho into a Central Defender to cover Laporte’s void.

With the absence of Laporte, Man City was handed their first Premier League defeat of the season by Norwich City during a 3-2 defeat at Carrow Road Stadium.

The defending Champions conceded goals from Teemu Pukki, Kenny McLean and Todd Cantwell despite Sergio Aguero and Rodri’s goals.

Watford 3 – 0 Liverpool

Most Football fans were surprised with the shocking defeat of Premier League Leaders, Liverpool in the hands of Watford at Vicarage road.

Ismalia Sarr inspired Watford’s incredible win over Liverpool as he scored twice during the match.

Liverpool’s 44-match unbeaten run and 18- match winning streak in the Premier League came to a sudden end with their first loss of the season.

Man City’s double defeats to Wolves and Manchester United

Manchester United and Wolves are the only two teams that have defeated Manchester City twice this season before the suspension of the Premier League and football.

The defending Champions who are second on the table with 25-points behind the League leaders, Liverpool were shocked by a 2- nil defeat to Wolves on the 6th of October 2019 before their Star men, Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez ended what they’ve started with a 3-2 win at Molineux Stadium to a 10-man Manchester City.

Also, Manchester United’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer experienced lasting victories in the derby matches as his Manchester side stunned City with a 2-1 Victory at the Etihad Stadium and a goalkeeping error which led to 2-nil victory at Old Trafford.
